The end of the year is winding down and it's been pretty crazy. The Olympics, school, the NBL title, injuries....gosh I don't even know where to start. First off, I'm sure everyone has read about Jill making it to the Olympics (congrats) but that leaves me with no trip back to Beijing (Grrr....). This year has been one of the worst years of my career actually I take that back it has been the worst year of my career. I fell so many times this year and it was mostly due to banging bars with people or colliding with people in the air. I still don't understand why we need to move over while we're flying 15ft off the ground, but hey I've survived so that's good.

Injuries have been plaguing me this year. The biggest and most severe injury I suffered from was from Desoto. I decided since I was already at the race I'd might as well race the ABA race and make a little money and have some fun. Well....that definitely didn't happen. Third moto Dominique and Rachel were just hard charging it down the 1st straight and were banging each other up. Dominique fell and landed on top of me and i and Dominique landed on my thumb. At first they thought I sprained it then I found out I partially tore the tendon in my thumb then I fractured it in two places. Now that I'm home they've changed their mind again and have said that my fractures are completely healed, but I completely tore the tendon which leaves me with having to get reconstructive surgery on my thumb. Talk about horrible timing.

I'm in the hunt for the NBL title again and I'm having to come from behind because I didn't race a lot of the NBL elite races this year. I'll go into the Grands with 8 finishes and they take your top 8 finishes for points. That leaves no room for error. I won Prunedale and Southpark and got a 3rd in West Palm, but because of my crash this weekend I think I might be too far behind to get the title now, but anything can happen. If I do win it, it will be my 6th title in a row and I'm really really wanting it.

Well I guess that's a little about what's been going on this year. Check back soon for more updates because I'm going to start updating this regularly.

It's been a while since I've updated, but life has been crazy. School is drilling me and I have such little time to train which is affecting my riding, but school right now comes first. I'm hoping to graduate in May so I'm loading up my classes. Midterms just finished and I got all A's and a B so I'm really excited!

New Mexico was just last weekend and I did okay, not as good as I wanted but it was half decent. I hit my head pretty good on Saturday and still can't remember what happened, but everything is okay and thanks to everyone who sent e-mails and came by the trailer to see if I was okay.

This weekend is the 1st UCI of the year and it's in Vegas. Wish me luck!

Getting ready to take off for Prunedale, CA for the NBL/UCI race. It should be a good one with Sammy Cools, Steph Barragan, Krystal Hime, Arielle Martin, etc.......a small race but no lack of competition! Wish me luck!!
