Donny Robinson Race Report Columbus, Ohio Dec. 28-...

Some pretty good things have happened in the past weeks.

After the ABA Grands I took a week off and then proceeded to

head to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs,

Colorado for a week.  This was an unbelievable experience to

attend such a facility.  We were tested to the max, but it was all

for the best as it will help us progress in the coming year.  So

much information was run through us from psychological

necessities to all the rules of anti-doping controls; it felt like I

was in school all over again.  I was also involved in a few

newspaper and local TV station interviews, as well as an NBC

interview that will be used in the coming years' BMX Supercross

Olympic coverage- very cool.

The day after Christmas I headed to Columbus, Ohio for what is

always the first race of the NBL season.  Last year this race was

very good to me, and I was hoping for a repeat performance.

Before the races though I had an on-track interview with the

local FOX news station in Columbus as well as an interview with

the Versus Network (formally OLN) who will be covering the 8

race NBL/UCI series.  Apparently I will have a sizeable part in

their coverage (since I'm the reigning #1 rider), so we'll see what

happens and hopefully I can perform well for everyone.

The first day of racing didn't end up the way I would have hoped.

In the semi qualifier I rode a little too high in the last turn and

was passed and didn't make the final. The second day went a bit

better as I ended up winning the Elite final for the day.  I am

happy to have got a win under my belt so early in the season.

Next race is in Reno, NV this weekend for the first race of the

ABA season.

Thanks

Donny Robinson
